An interesting morning.

Up and at ’em we went to Intermarché to fuel up and to buy some food for when we arrive home.

They were queuing outside the door for what appeared to be controlled entry. There were queues for fuel too. “We’re not that desperate” we said and set off for home. It wasn’t long before we met the Route Barrée sign. The driver was cut short in his swearing when he spotted that we were being diverted past Leclerc.

We have finished shopping. Phew.

Couldn’t fuel up as the exit to the pumps was also Route Barrée. We exited via a toy shop car park and this interesting wee road, with absolutely no idea where we were!

La Cavalerie. We had been going to stay the night here, there’s both a cheese France Passion (we are in Roquefort country) and a CCP Aire. It’s a lovely little town.

However with last night’s warning of tonight’s address from M. Macron… we are covering more ground in expectation of imminent travel restrictions. Just called in to grab a lunchtime sandwich from the SPAR.

Onward!

Seeing some sensational autumn colours on this drive but finding it hard to capture what with all the bouncing, twisting and turning. Not to mention the crappy IG camera facility.

Deviation through Béziers.

It’s going to be a long day…

Apparently Aragon has locked down travel today. Seems we made the correct decision in getting back to France quickly.

Yesterday was tough but we seem to be moving on again without resting. The Aire was not very lovely and the noise incessant. Half Term effect is in full throttle. As well as children being alarming, an unleashed dog and ditto cat were causing our two stress. All this and nowhere to walk the dog.

So on we go and it is with the recognition that the situation is escalating rapidly. We need to be thinking of home rather than pootling. I want to arrive before the extreme measures begin to appear and whilst we can go shopping together before having to dig in and sit things out. Not rushing or panicking but looking towards a relatively quick passage, we think.

Spirits are not high, especially since tackling Intermarché this morning! Horrible.
