A better day today and just a short run of 45 minutes. No need to stop and shop as tonight we will be parked next to Carrefour.

Peaceful night and comfortable – we left the heating on low but it didn’t kick in until around 6 am. Might be running all night tonight as we are heading upwards and have -1°C forecast. Will be needing a ribsticking meal tonight.

And so we bid Spain a rainsoaked farewell, without even a short trip to a Mercadona. My shopping list of Spanish treats remains unfulfilled. No Manchego, no greasy almonds, no Summer Wine.

We return to France, having received news from Portugal that meant our trip was looking ever more difficult. This is the sensible decision.

I hate motorways in the rain.

Not a bad morning, weatherwise.

Otherwise… Dusty got away from me when he spooked during his walk. He tore off, dragging his lead behind him making a racket and spooking him even more. Luckily a fellow camper found him and grabbed his lead until we turned up to retrieve him. Phew.

The poor lad has skinned a pad on the tarmac as he was running. It’s going to be sore but it should be okay without vet attention. We will keep.an eye on it.

Off to Gastes! Gastes is nice.
