On the N10, heading for home and we are now in La Charente. The landscape is looking familiar and comfortable. We are going to take a break at La Rochfoucauld; just park up in the Supermarket car park to stretch legs, drink coffee and let the cat out of the bag for a while. We will shop for supplies for our first few days at home. It’s all a bit of a surprise but we are feeling good about it. #wp #livereportingfromtheroad #france #goinghome

Another sunny day, but with daffodils. Not sure where we shall end up tonight. We are aiming for a small canalside Aire but being a weekend and good weather, it may prove to be full and require a backup plan that has yet to be formulated. #wp #livereportingfromtheroad #france

French D road bliss. Of course everything could turn pearshaped any moment now. It usually does. That’s all part of the fun. #wp #livereportingfromtheroad #france

Woke up this morning expecting to drive to Arcachon but Mr Snail opened his eyes and asked if I should like to go to Gastes instead. So, that’s where we are heading. A pleasant day for it now that the mist has cleared. Quite a late start after morning coffee with fellow Gastrovanners followed by Intermarché. It’s a short journey however and we shall soon be walking Nell around the lake. Dusty won’t be coming as he has started to limp again. #wp #livereportingfromtheroad #france #gastrovanners #gastrovanner

The first time that we came through the road improvement works on the A63, the end date of February 2020 seemed an impossibly long way ahead. Yet here we are, motoring on through as they put in the finishing touches. An altogether more pleasant journey. #wp #livereportingfromtheroad #france
