Startling

Yesterday evening we met a couple whose hobby is … collecting St Emilion.

I cannot hold this against them, after all, my “final meal” request would include a bottle of a St Emilion Grand Cru Classé – and why not, if you can get away with it.

This couple however may have taken their hobby to extremes; they revealed that they had sold 1,000 bottles from their collection, at a wine auction in Mayenne.

Just let that sink in.

I know that I am behind on updates, but it has been too hot for my poor brain to function. I will catch up.

Currently in Lussac-St-Emilion and poised to depart for Rouillac. Just one or two further stops before we return to Base.
