A five hour day today, and it was a hot one. A tiring journey of over 300 Km, on pot-holed Spanish motorways, taking in the outer reaches of Sevilla.

We have arrived safely at Monesterio, where we were not at all surprised to find the designated area overflowing with long-stayers. No hookup tonight, then. We have parked opposite the SPAR shop.

The motorways, once we arrived in Spain, were looking very colourful, with the central reservation lined with Oleanders. The embankments were looking very yellow, with Broom and lingering Mimosa.

We broke the journey at a little over the halfway point, parking up at the Carrefour outside La Palma del Condado. It’s right by the A49 and we knew that, being closed on a Sunday, we could park without difficulty. Motorway services can be challenging for us at the weekends, with all the lorries parked up, making Carrefour a better option.

A quick sandwich lunch fortified us for the assault on Sevilla, though to be truthful, navigating south to north on the west side is a whole lot easier than going around the other way. Sunday traffic was double-edged, with no lorries on the road and slightly lower traffic levels overall, but a couple of Sunday Drivers caused not a little trepidation.

Onward to Canaveral tomorrow. It’s another long drive, though not as tough as today’s. We have actually now planned our route all the way into France. Don’t care much for planning, but we need to get our CT done and timing is everything.

It’s currently too hot to think (apologies if this causes me to ramble) so I am waiting for a cooler moment in which to transfer our planning spreadsheet into Polarsteps planning entries. Similarly, posts lined up are pending my brain beginning to work again. It’s going to be a busy few days, so I may be AWOL.

Time for a lie-down!
