Ony one camp site that we have stayed on to date lacks flood precautions/escape instructions. It seems that camping is not camping unless it happens close to water. The floods here can be impressive – we walked past a house yesterday that had the levels in 1910 marked and it was way above Mr Snail's head. We were well away from the river at that point too.

The French appear to love their privacy and there are many signs barring access. Thankfully they also love their Randonnee too and many waymarked paths are avaliable

Rescue man flummoxed this morning but gave us a jumpstart. We drove to La Chappelle Sur Erdre to be closer to help when they open tomorrow. Got a pleasant riverside walk out of it though. Serendipity.
